A new bike parking facility was officially opened today at the Neuenhagen S-Bahn station near Berlin – another important step in promoting sustainable transport in the region. A total of 264 parking slots are now available to cyclists, 84 of which are in two protected areas that can be easily accessed via the ParkYourBike app.
Representatives from politics and the mobility sector came together for the opening of the facility:
Michael Fugel, managing director of infraVelo, emphasized the importance of such facilities:
"ParkYourBike stands for sustainable bike parking in Berlin and Brandenburg. Cyclists can easily book digitally via the app and park their bikes securely 24/7. I am delighted that we have now been able to add another location with 84 protected parking slots in the municipality of Neuenhagen bei Berlin."
Dr. Ina Bartmann, State Secretary in the Brandenburg Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Planning, praised the good cooperation between the state, local authorities, and the transport association.
Arne Herz, Berlin State Secretary for Transport, emphasized the importance of regional networking:
"Since 2023, the state of Berlin has been co-financing the expansion of P+R and B+R facilities in the Berlin area in order to enable people to switch to eco-friendly modes of transport close to their homes. Around 500 P+R and 3,000 B+R spaces have already been funded in cooperation with the state of Brandenburg. This is cooperation between the states in action and a milestone for sustainable mobility in the wider Berlin area. Neuenhagen is a flagship project that has been realized and is also inspiring us in Berlin."
The mayor of Neuenhagen, Ansgar Scharnke, and VBB managing director Christoph Heuing were also present and emphasized the role of the new facility in enhancing the attractiveness of the location.

The protected parking slots can be easily accessed via the ParkYourBike app. After registering once, cyclists can book parking slots, manage access, and park their bikes securely – around the clock. Until November 30, there is also a free trial period for short-term bookings (12 hours + 24 hours). After that, the following rates apply:
