FAQ

1. Registration and customer account

Please check the “Confirm account” page to ensure that your email address has been entered correctly. You can also request that the confirmation code for your email address be sent again. Please also check your spam folder.
If you still do not receive a confirmation code, please send a brief description of the error to the ParkYourBike team at support@parkyourbike.net.

First, make sure you are entering the email address you used to register and the correct password.

If you forgot your password, go to Profile → Login and click “Forgot password”. Enter your registered email address and you will receive a verification code by email. After entering the code, you can set a new password. It must be at least 8 characters long and include upper and lower case letters as well as at least one number.

If you closed the page before entering the verification code, you can continue the process at any time. Simply go back to Profile → Login → Forgot password and select “I already have a code”.

Go to the Profile page and select Account details. You can change your set language here. German and English are the options that are currently available.

Registration is free of charge, as is reserving a parking slot. Only parking processes (ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin) and bookings (RadPark facilities in Brandenburg) incur costs, for which there are different tariff levels, find out more on the ParkYourBike website.

Go to the Profile page and select Account details. You can change your password there. Choose a new password according to the password rules (at least eight characters, upper and lower case letters and at least one number).

To change your e-mail address, you must be logged in to the app or Website. You can enter a new e-mail address on the Profile page under Account details. A confirmation code will then be sent to your new e-mail address, and you can enter it in the next step.

To unsubscribe from your ParkYourBike app, go to the Profile page and here to Account details. Click on Log out here.

If you don’t have a ParkYourBike account, download the ParkYourBike app (Google Play Store, Apple App Store) or directly use the ParkYourBike Web app to register with your e-mail address and a personal password that complies with the password rules (at least eight characters and including upper and lower case letters as well as at least one number).

For successful registration, it is necessary for you to have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions of Use and our Privacy Policy.

We will then send a confirmation code to your e-mail address for verification purposes. Enter the confirmation code to activate your account. You will then receive a confirmation e-mail stating that your account has been successfully created. Now you can log in with your user credentials.

Go to the Profile page and select Account details. You can delete your account there. To delete your account, it is necessary for you to have no ongoing parking processes and no outstanding payments. After deletion of your account, you will be automatically logged out. An administrator will take care of irrevocably erasing all of your personal data.

2. Reservations

You can make a reservation at a ParkYourBike facility in Berlin both through the Locations page and the Activities page.

On the Locations page of your app, you first select the location and then click on Reserve in the detail view of the desired location.

On the Activities page of your app, you can click Reserve Now for Free and then select the location for the reservation.

In principle, you can reserve up to five parking slots at all ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin, provided there are enough free slots and you do not currently have any active parking processes or reservations at the location.

At the RadPark locations in Brandenburg, no parking slots can be reserved in advance, but a fixed parking slot is booked for a predetermined period. When choosing a parking slot, however, you can select whether the slot is at ground level or suitable for a cargo bike, provided these slots are available.

If you would like a ground-level parking slot in a single-box facility, you can activate the preference “I need a ground-level box” for such facilities in Berlin. If there are still ground-level boxes available, one will be reserved for you; otherwise, an upper-level box will be reserved.

When booking at RadPark locations, you can also select your preferred parking slot preferences, if available.

To delete or cancel a reservation, go to the Activities page. There you will find all your current reservations. Click on the relevant reservation to access the detailed view. There you will find the “Cancel” option under the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of the screen. After confirming, you will receive a message informing you that your reservation has been canceled.

At the ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin, you can reserve a maximum of five parking slots per location at the same time up to 24 hours in advance; this service is free of charge. Reservations are not possible at the RadPark facilities in Brandenburg, here you book your parking space directly at the respective costs of the facility.

Parking means that you park a bike at one of the ParkYourBike locations; this process is subject to a charge and begins when the door to the parking facility or box is opened. You can park up to five bikes at a time at each location.

Reservations are valid for 24 hours. If you fail to start a parking process during this time, your reservation will automatically expire and the bike slots will be released for reservation by others.

When you reserve a bike slot, it cannot be reserved by anyone else. So if you change your mind and no longer need a bike slot, you should delete your reservation so that others can use it.

Only one reservation for up to five bike slots is possible at each location in Berlin. However, you can create reservations at multiple locations in Berlin.

When parking at the terminal, you can still reduce or increase the number of bicycles to be parked if necessary.

In Brandenburg, there are no reservations; you book your parking slot directly.

Your current reservations for ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin are listed on the Activities page.

On the map, you can recognise the locations with your current reservations based on the clock icon.

3. Payment method

No, currently you can only pay with a payment method stored in your profile. To start a parking session or create a booking, you need to have a payment method stored in your ParkYourBike app.

No, you can only store one payment method.

You need a stored payment method to be able to book, park or reserve. You can use all other features of the ParkYourBike app without storing a payment method.

If your payment method has been blocked or you have lost it, please change your stored payment method to a valid payment method.

If you add Paypal as a payment method, the registration process will be taken over by Paypal, simply follow the instructions from Paypal.

Please note that PayPal must be re-verified as a payment method once a year. This means that after one year Paypal can only be used as a payment method for ParkYourBike after a new verification. You will notice that your payment method is no longer accepted and is visually framed in red. Simply follow the Paypal instructions to re-verify Paypal as a payment method.

Please store a valid payment method in good time before your credit card expires.

As soon as your deposited means of payment is no longer valid, you can no longer park in Berlin and Brandenburg.

You can use the following payment methods:

  • Credit/debit card (VISA or Mastercard)
  • PayPal

Please note that we only accept credit/debit cards with 3D Secure.

In your ParkYourBike app, go to the menu item Payment methods under Profile. You can select and store your payment method there.

Yes, you can either change or delete your stored payment method in the ParkYourBike app under Profile and the Payment method selection.

If you want to change your payment method, click on Update, select the desired payment method and follow the instructions to enter the necessary details. Your old payment method will remain active until your new payment method has been successfully added to your profile.

If you want to delete your payment method, click on Delete.

Please note that you can only delete your payment method if you have no outstanding payments and no current parking processes or reservations.

Please note: No reservations or parking processes can be carried out without a valid payment method.

4. Tariffs

If you have not yet used your season ticket for a ParkYourBike facility in Berlin and it has not yet expired, you can cancel your season ticket within 14 days. You can also cancel a RadPark booking yourself if the booking start date is in the future. If you are unable to cancel, please contact the ParkYourBike team via the (web) app, the contact form on the website or by email to support@parkyourbike.net with your cancellation request.

Yes, you can extend your season ticket at any time.

At ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin, click on the season ticket you would like to extend and then click on the Extend season ticket button. Select the type of Season Ticket with which you would like to extend your Season Ticket. You can extend your Season Ticket with a Monthly Ticket or Annual Ticket.

Please note that it may take a few minutes before your extended Season Ticket is ready for use.

As soon as your current Season Ticket expires, your extended Season Ticket will be automatically activated.

Please note: When you purchase a new Season Ticket, it is not automatically applied to running parking processes. You have to manually assign it to a parking process at the terminal.

At RadPark facilities in Brandenburg, you can easily extend the rental period of your booking by clicking on Activities and selecting the location where you would like to extend your booking. It is important that you extend as long as your booking is still active.

When you purchase a new Season Ticket, it cannot be applied to running parking processes. It can only be assigned at the start of new parking processes. However, you can extend your Season Ticket at any time before its expiration. This ensures that running parking processes with your Season Ticket will not switch to the Flex tariff. To do this, click on the Season Ticket you want to extend in the Season Ticket overview. There you will find the button "Extend Season Ticket" in the lower area.

If the validity of your Season Ticket has expired at a ParkYourBike location in Berlin, but the bike is still parked in the facility (ongoing parking process), the Flex Tariff automatically applies to the parking time after the Season Ticket has expired, i.e. the first 24 hours are free of charge and then EUR 0.70 is charged for each additional 24 hours. The costs incurred in the Flex tariff are stored in your ParkYourBike profile after you collect your bike and billed once a month. You can find details on the Flex tariff under Berlin.

Please note: You can extend your Season Ticket at any time before its expiration. This ensures that running parking processes with your Season Ticket do not switch to the Flex tariff. To do this, click on the Season Ticket you want to extend in the Season Ticket overview. There you will find the button "Extend Season Ticket" in the lower area.

If the booking is exceeded at a RadPark location in Brandenburg, you will no longer have access to your parking slot. You should therefore collect your bike on time or extend your booking while it is still active.

If you have missed picking up your bike before your booking expires, please contact support at support@parkyourbike.net.

The Flex tariff is only available at the ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin.

In the Flex tariff, parking processes are tracked to the minute and the costs are calculated according to the intervals set in the tariff (currently 24-hour intervals). At the end of each month, the costs of the completed parking processes of the current month are settled via the payment method stored in the profile.
If you do not wish to purchase a season ticket, you will park your bike in the Flex tariff.

If your season ticket expires and you still have a running parking process, the Flex tariff will also apply.

You can see the costs of the current month in the menu item Bookings.

You can find invoices from previous months in your profile under Invoices.

There are different tariffs for the ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin and the RadPark facilities in Brandenburg.

For the ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin, there is a Flex tariff and season tickets.

With the Flex tariff (preset), you park free of charge for the first 24 hours per parking process. After that, we charge EUR 0.70 per 24 hours or part thereof. Costs incurred in the Flex tariff are collected over the course of the current month and automatically billed at the end of the month using the stored payment method.

You can also use season tickets (currently monthly tickets for EUR 7.00 or annual tickets for EUR 70.00 per bike) at all ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin. These season tickets must be purchased and paid for via the app before parking. Season tickets are valid immediately and are not facility-specific, i.e. they are valid at all ParkYourBike facilities. For example, if you buy a monthly pass on October 5, it is valid up to and including November 4 at the same time. However, parking in Berlin may not last longer than 21 days at a time.

It is possible to buy an extension for a season ticket. The card automatically becomes valid after the time card to be extended has expired.

If you park without a season ticket or if you exceed the period for the purchased season ticket, the Flex tariff automatically applies.

You can find the tariff information for Berlin on our website or in your app under Profile -> Tariffs.

At the RadPark facilities in Brandenburg, the tariffs for the parking slots are set by the respective municipalities and can be found in the ParkYourBike app in the location details and on our website. At the RadPark locations in Brandenburg, fixed parking slots can be booked for a fixed period at a fixed price.

Monthly and annual tickets are available for ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin. For more information visit our Berlin page.

The season tickets can be purchased at any time in the app and are valid immediately. This means that if you buy a monthly ticket on October 5, for example, it will be valid up to and including November 4. However, ongoing parking processes will not be converted to newly purchased season tickets.

For RadPark facilities in Brandenburg, the local authorities set the tariffs and possible season tickets. For more information, visit our Brandenburg page.

For ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin, you can go to Activities in your ParkYourBike app, where you will find the "Buy a season ticket for Berlin" box in the top right corner if you don’t have a Season Ticket yet; otherwise, there is a box in the same place that will take you to the Season Tickets you have purchased. There you will find a button for purchasing additional Season Tickets.

Attention: Unlike extended Season Tickets, newly purchased Season Tickets cannot be used for any running parking processes.

For RadPark facilities in Brandenburg, book your parking slot with your desired rental period in the location details of the desired facility. To do this, go to Locations in the app and select the location on the map or in the list view.

For season tickets that you have purchased for ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin, go to Activities in your ParkYourBike app, where you will find the "Buy a season ticket for Berlin" field at the top right if you do not yet have a season ticket, otherwise there is a field in the same place that will take you to your purchased season tickets.

Please note: You can extend your Season Ticket at any time before its expiration. This ensures that current parking processes with your Season Ticket do not switch to the Flex tariff. To do this, click on the Season Ticket you want to extend in the Season Ticket overview. There you will find the button "Extend Season Ticket" in the lower area. When you purchase a new Season Ticket, it is not automatically applied to running parking processes. You have to manually assign it to a parking process at the terminal.

For bookings at RadPark facilities in Brandenburg, you will find information on your rental period and possible extensions under Activities and the respective location where you made your booking.

The ParkYourBike app distinguishes between locations in Berlin and Brandenburg, as different parking and booking models apply.

In Berlin, you can park using the Flex tariff or a season ticket. With the Flex tariff, the first 24 hours are free, after that each started 24‑hour period costs €0.70. Charges are billed automatically at the end of the month. Monthly and yearly tickets are available, must be purchased in advance, and are valid at all Berlin locations. The maximum parking duration per parking process is 21 days. Access is provided via one permanent PIN that works at all ParkYourBike locations in Berlin.

In Brandenburg, parking works via fixed bookings for a specific parking slot and time period. Payment is made immediately when booking. Bookings that have not yet started can be cancelled free of charge. During an active booking, you can access your bike as often as needed, but access ends once the booking period expires. Each booking comes with its own access code. Prices, rental periods and terms may vary by location, as RadPark facilities are operated by local municipalities.

You can find more information about individual locations in the app under Locations or on our website under Berlin or Brandenburg.

5. Invoices

For parking transactions in Berlin: You will usually receive a monthly invoice for your purchases from the previous month. No invoices will be issued for months in which no costs were incurred.

For bookings in Brandenburg: You will receive your invoice upon completion of the booking.

All invoices can be viewed sorted by month in your profile under Payment Receipts.

For ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin, you can find your accrued monthly costs in the Flex tariff under Activities and “Costs this month”.

Costs for season tickets in Berlin or bookings in Brandenburg are charged immediately and are not listed here. Paid season tickets or bookings are displayed in your Profile under “Payment receipts”.

In the ParkYourBike app, go to the Profile page and click payment receipts. There you will find your invoices sorted by date with the option to download the invoices as PDF files.

6. Access and access media

Yes, you can remove your BVG/VBB card as an access medium. If you have registered a BVG/VBB card as an access medium, you can select it in your app under Access and then use the button to remove it.

Contact support via our contact form. We will reset your access PIN or TAN and you will receive new access data.

When you are at the desired location, you can access the system at the terminal by calling up your access data under “Access” on your smartphone. There is a tab for facilities in Berlin and a tab for facilities in Brandenburg. There are various ways to open the door to the facility:

  • Via the QR code displayed in the ParkYourBike app: To do this, hold the screen of your smartphone at an angle in front of the scanner below the screen.

You can also print out the QR code, which you can find on the Access page, and laminate it, e.g. with a laminator, for frequent reuse if you want to be independent of your smartphone.

  • By entering the access PIN (Berlin) or access TAN (Brandenburg) on the touchscreen or pin pad of the terminal: You can find your PIN or TAN in the ParkYourBike app under Access and the respective Berlin or Brandenburg tab.
  • Using your VBB environmental card: Hold the card directly in front of the reader below the screen.
  • At some locations in Berlin (see location details), you can also open the door directly via your smartphone if you have activated the Bluetooth function on it and are in the immediate vicinity of the system terminal. Then simply click on the “Park now” button at the respective location.

You can add an RFID card as an access medium at any ParkYourBike terminal or in the app.

Valid RFID cards are currently BVG cards, VBB Umweltkarten, or Deutschlandtickets, which can be read by the chip.

Adding at the terminal: Hold your card in front of the reader. To link the card to your ParkYourBike account, all you have to do is enter your access PIN once at the terminal. Once this is done, you can use your card at any ParkYourBike terminal and view and manage it in the app under Access.

Adding in the app: Add it under Access by entering the card number or scanning the card, which you can do using the NFC interface on your smartphone. To do this, access to the NFC interface must be enabled by the ParkYourBike app in your smartphone settings.

If you want to use an RFID card as an access medium at a RadPark facility in Brandenburg, you must register it before making a booking for which you want to use the card. You can find out how to do this in the paragraph above.

You can use the same RFID card for ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin and RadPark facilities in Brandenburg.

Please note: digital RFID cards on your smartphone (e.g., via Wallet/NFC) cannot currently be used as an access medium. Only physical RFID cards with a readable chip are currently supported.

When you arrive at a ParkYourBike facility, you can start parking right away by clicking on the “Park now” button in the location details in the app, without having to go to the terminal. You can select the number of bikes to be parked and the desired tariff directly in the app, and the door will then open. This works when starting, visiting, and ending parking at all ParkYourBike facilities in Berlin.

7. Bookings

No. If you only want to park one bike at a ParkYourBike facility in Berlin and do not have a reservation, simply register at the terminal and the terminal will default to parking one bike.

As a tariff, either the Flex Tariff or an active Season Ticket stored in the user account is preselected.

Please check the default settings of the terminal for correctness before you start the parking process.

If all settings are correct, you can start the parking process with just one click. If the number of bicycles and/or the assigned tariff is not correct, please correct this via the respective button Change number of bicycles or Tariffs.

At the RadPark locations in Brandenburg, you can no longer change your booking at the terminal.

Unfortunately, this is not possible in Berlin. You can only have one active parking process with one or more bikes per location, which must then be ended for all bikes at the same time.

In Brandenburg, you must make a separate booking for each bike. As long as your bookings are active, you can park and unpark your bikes at any time, either individually or together.

In Berlin: When parking in a bicycle parking facility with bicycle boxes, you can specify whether you would prefer a bicycle box at the top or bottom. If possible, the system will assign you a box accordingly.

In Brandenburg: When booking, you can choose whether you would like to use a ground-level box, subject to availability.

At the ParkYorBike facilities in Berlin, you can go to your parked bike up to twice per parking process without ending the parking process. To do this, use your access medium to log in at the terminal or use your smartphone via Bluetooth function. The terminal or smartphone has an option to visit your bike, allowing you to go to your bike without ending the parking process. After the second visit, no further visits are possible during the current parking process and the terminal will only offer you the option to end the parking process.

If you park at a RadPark location in Brandenburg, you can open the door to the parking slot an unlimited number of times as long as your booking is active.

Please note: RadPark bookings have a fixed end date. As soon as your booking ends, you no longer have access to the parking slot. Therefore, remove your bike before the end of the booking period or try to extend the booking period while your booking is still active. If you fail to remove your bike in time, you will no longer have access to the parking slot and will have to contact the ParkYourBike team.

In Berlin: If you have a reservation for a bike and a valid Season Ticket, the terminal will offer you a parking slot directly with your Season Ticket assigned.

The assignment of the tariff or the number of bikes can be changed via the respective buttons on the screen if necessary.

If you have multiple Season Tickets or want to park multiple bikes, you must assign your Season Tickets or the Flex Tariff before starting the parking process.

In Brandenburg: As long as you have an active booking and check in at the terminal with valid access data or access medium, the booked door to the facility will open. You will see a message on the terminal confirming that the door has been successfully opened.

If you want to pick up one or more bikes at a ParkYourBike facility in Berlin, log in to the terminal with your access medium and select “End parking process”. The door will open and you can remove your bike. Please don't forget to close the door again afterwards. You can also end the parking process via your smartphone if you have activated the Bluetooth function on it and are in the immediate vicinity of the terminal (check in advance in the location details of the facility whether the function is available).

If you do not have the option to end the parking process, the terminal has not found an active parking process in your user account. In this case, please contact support.

If you park at a RadPark location in Brandenburg, you can remove your bike at any time as long as your booking is active.

Please note! RadPark bookings have a fixed end date. As soon as your booking ends, you no longer have access to the parking slot. Therefore, remove your bike before the end of the booking period or try to extend the booking period while your booking is still active. If you fail to remove your bike in time, you will no longer have access to the parking slot and will have to contact support.

If you have stored several valid Season Tickets in your profile, this will be recognized by the terminal before the parking process starts. Each time you park in Berlin, you can select which Season Ticket is to be used at the terminal.

In Berlin, you can park at ParkYourBike locations for a maximum of 21 calendar days per parking process. It does not matter whether you have a monthly or yearly ticket; you can only park for a maximum of 21 days at a time. We regularly check the parking time of parked bikes and mark bikes that have been parked in a bike parking facility for more than 21 calendar days. If the maximum parking time is exceeded, an overdue fee will be charged according to the currently valid tariff model. If the maximum parking time is exceeded and the payment obligation is violated, we are entitled to remove the bikes at your expense as a last resort after a set grace period has expired without success.

At RadPark locations in Brandenburg, there are fixed bookings for a specific period of rental, which you select when booking. You can park or remove your bike as often as you like during the booked period. It is important that you remove your bike before your booking expires.

All locations are open around the clock - you can park and pick up your bike at any time.

In the ParkYourBike app, the park start differs depending on whether you are at a location in Berlin or Brandenburg.

In Berlin, you can park directly on site without prior booking.

Here's how it works:

  • Go to the facility where you want to park.
  • Log in at the terminal with your PIN, QR code, RFID card or smartphone/Bluetooth.
  • Select how many bikes you want to park (up to 5, if there are free slots available).
  • Select the desired tariff (flex tariff or season ticket, if available).
  • If you have made a reservation in advance, the number of reserved slots and tariffs will be displayed – you can still adjust these.
  • The door will open, you can place your bicycle inside and lock it.
  • Please close the door again.

In Brandenburg, parking is only possible with advance bookings.

Here's how it works:

  • Select the desired RadPark facility in Brandenburg in the app.
  • Book a specific parking slot there for a fixed period of time – prices are set by the respective local authority and can be found in the location details.
  • Payment is made immediately upon booking.
  • You will receive a TAN and a QR code for your booking, which you will need to open the facility.
  • On site, enter your TAN at the terminal, scan the QR code or use the RFID card stored in your profile, and the door will open so you can park your bike. Don't forget to lock your bike and close the door.
  • Once the rental period has expired, you will no longer have access.

You can park up to five bicycles at each location in Berlin. However, you can only have one ongoing parking process for one or more bicycles at each location, that is, once you have parked one or more bicycles at a location, you cannot park any additional bicycles there later while the original parking process is still ongoing. When you finish your parking process, it is necessary to retrieve all your bicycles at the same time.

At locations in Brandenburg, you make individual bookings for each bicycle, with a limit of five at most facilities.

In the ParkYourBike app, click the Activities page, where you will find all ongoing parking processes for each bike and location.

On the map, locations with ongoing parking processes are marked with the parking icon.

Yes, you can usually pick up your bicycle at any time, even if the location is out of service. However, under these circumstances it isn’t possible to visit your bicycle without ending the parking process.

If there is no connection between the terminal and the app, but you are able to remove your bike from the ParkYourBike facility in Berlin, the parking process will be synchronized at a later time and the actual parking time will be updated in your ParkYourBike account as soon as there is a connection between the terminal and the app again.

No liability is accepted for your bicycle or other items left in the parking facility.

See Terms and Conditions of Use.

Currently there are locations with collective bike parking and/or individual bike parking or bike garages. You can find the Berlin locations on the Berlin page and all Brandenburg locations on the Brandenburg page. The type of parking facility and the number of slots currently available in each facility are displayed for each location.

In principle, you can park bicycles of the usual type, including e-bikes, anywhere.

Please note the weight restrictions of the respective locations for the upper double-decker parkers. The support rails of the double-decker parkers are suitable for tire widths up to 55 mm. The maximum length of the bike should not exceed 1990 mm.

Special bikes such as tricycles or cargo bikes cannot be parked at all ParkYourBike and RadPark locations. Please check the description of the respective location in the location details to find out whether parking slots for special bikes are available there.

You can find the respective locations on the website at www.parkyourbike.net or in the app under the menu item Locations.

ParkYourBike is operated by GB infraVelo GmbH, a subsidiary of the state-owned enterprise Grün Berlin GmbH. • An out-of-service location is displayed with an exclamation mark. At an out-of-service location, it is only possible to retrieve bicycles.
  • Locations in preparation are also displayed with this icon, which means that such a location does not yet exist but will soon be available. As we all know, anticipation is half the fun.
