On June 24, 2026, we laid the foundation stone for a new VBB RadPark in Werder (Havel). This is an important step for you and everyone who combines cycling with rail travel.

A strong signal for better mobility

Representatives from politics and the transportation sector gathered at the Werder (Havel) train station to officially mark the launch of the modular bicycle parking facility. Among those present were Brandenburg’s State Secretary for Infrastructure and Regional Planning Volker-Gerd Westphal, as well as local government representatives, the VBB, and infraVelo. The facility is scheduled to open at the end of the year.

The message is clear:

  • Bicycles and public transit belong together
  • Commuting should be easier
  • Secure parking facilities are a must

Why Werder (Havel)?

The location is one of the most important in the surrounding area. More than 5,000 travelers use this station daily on the R1 line between Werder and Berlin.

Many of them switch from their bikes to the train. This is exactly where the new RadPark comes in.

Here’s what’s being built for you

Modern bike amenities are being created on the south side of the station:

  • 374 parking spots in total
  • 159 secure spots in locked areas
  • 6 special parking spots for larger or specialty bikes
  • Easy to use via ParkYourBike

We already operate over 1,400 secure parking spots in Brandenburg—and the network continues to grow.
