A new function is now available in the ParkYourBike app for the locations in Berlin: Anyone standing in front of a ParkYourBike facility's terminal in Berlin can now start and end parking processes directly from their smartphone. However, this does not replace the function of the terminals at which parking processes were previously started and ended but supplements it in order to further increase user-friendliness.
Our aim is to offer cyclists another way to start and end a parking process or to visit their bike. In addition to the new function, there is still access via the terminal - either with an access PIN, QR code or paired e ticket (RFID card).
Bluetooth on and start parking
Anyone standing at the facility and pulling out their cell phone simply clicks on “Park now” in the location details of the respective facility in the ParkYourBike app and then selects the number of bikes to be parked and the respective tariffs. To start the parking process, you must be in the direct vicinity of the facility's terminal with the Bluetooth function switched on on your cell phone. The ParkYourBike app receives the signal from the system, and the door is opened after the “Park now” button is pressed. To end the parking process, click on the details view of the current parking process in the activity overview, and then click the “End parking process” button.
In Berlin, all systems have been retrofitted accordingly and can now also be opened directly via your own smartphone.
