There are now 144 protected parking slots at three locations in Berlin that can be used with ParkYourBike. The S-Bahn stations Adlershof (Treptow-Köpenick), Hermsdorf (Reinickendorf) were opened today by the Senator for Transport, Ute Bonde, the DB Group Representative for North-East, Alexander Kaczmarek, Reinickendorf City Councillor Julia Schrod-Thiel and infraVelo Managing Director Michael Fugel at Hermsdorf S-Bahn station. Lichterfelde Süd (Steglitz-Zehlendorf) will follow.

At Hermsdorf S-Bahn station, there are 72 protected parking slots in the P+R parking lot between the S-Bahn and the station building, powered by a photovoltaic system. At Adlershof S-Bahn station, there are 24 new parking slots on the western side of the station. At Lichterfelde Süd S-Bahn station, 48 parking slots between the S-Bahn and Westfalenring will be built from the fall.

Bike+Ride Offensive

The new parking facilities were built as part of the Bike+Ride campaign, a cooperation between the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and Deutsche Bahn. The Federal Ministry is providing 70% of the funding via the National Climate Protection Initiative's municipal guideline, while Deutsche Bahn is supporting the local authorities in selecting the locations in the vicinity of the stations. The state of Berlin is providing co-financing.

The facilities with the 144 parking slots will start with a free offer until 01.09.2025. After this introductory phase, the first 24 hours of parking will remain free of charge in the Flex tariff. After that, a fee of 70 cents will be charged for every 24 hours started. It will also be possible to purchase season tickets (monthly ticket for 7.00 euros and annual ticket for 70.00 euros).

Michael Fugel, Managing Director of infraVelo: “Offering safe, attractive and free parking motivates people to test our offer and get to know ParkYourBike. Anyone who tries it out realizes how easy and relaxed it is to park their bike in a protected facility. A standardized system for protected bicycle parking is also the key to the gradual expansion of protected bicycle stations in Berlin and Brandenburg. To this end, we offer districts and municipalities all services from A to Z from a single source.”
